Mind and Ego
To break the mind game, our true Consciousness must control the mind by becoming a neutral observer of our thoughts. The voice in our heads isn't the voice of Consciousness. The mind thinks it is, but it isn't.

The mind and the ego are superb devices of our body like arms and legs. We use them and they help us in life.
We use the mind to think, to plan, to remember, to learn, and many other things. The mind is like a computer, with videos and records of our entire life since conception, and the inner voice is like 'Siri' in the iPhone.
The Ego is like a software that has all the information of what we have learned, seen and lived through our lives since conception. They are great to help to survive, but.... the problem is:
- Our rational mind believes the thoughts and it believes everything the inner voice says;
- Our rational mind is trying to stop it's chattering and couldn't;
- Our rational mind is living in the past and future most of the time;
It is hearing and watching old patterns that are sending fear, anger and wrong thoughts with videos and records about past and future events. Of course, you are anxious about the unknown future.
To break this mind game, our true Consciousness must control the mind by becoming a neutral observer of our thoughts. The voice in our heads isn't the voice of Consciousness. The mind thinks it is, but it isn't.
We, humans, are evolving. First, we had instincts, then a logical mind and later we created the Ego and experiences dualism, separateness and lack of wholeness.
The next step in our evolution: Conscious awareness, that is still asleep in most of us. It is about learning to become the observer of our mind and so it can understand and experience that we aren't our thinking minds. Instead of reacting subconsciously on situations, we can become more conscious of ourselves and be able to respond in a more authentic manner. The upside is that we are more in alignment with our desires and needs. The downside is that our ego-identity is resisting this growth, but it has no choice and will change towards your true self.
Take a test: Point towards yourself. Where did you point at, your head? No, you pointed towards your chest where Consciousness, spirit, soul, heart, essence, centre of our Being always resides.
Eckhart Tolle heard the voice of Universal Consciousness coming from his chest the night he had his Awakening. "YOU ARE'NT YOUR MIND".
Your mind is an instrument, this tool is useful for specific tasks and when these tasks are finished, you have to leave it aside. About 80 to 90% of most people's thinking patterns are not only repetitive useless because it is mostly about the past and future. Therefore they are dysfunctional and often have a negative or judgmental nature. Therefore they are blocking true intentions and are creating resistance and non-acceptance in recurring situations. Without conscious awareness, these thinking patterns are harmful because of the stress it causes.
Most people will suppress stress symptoms and feelings as long as possible. Seeking distraction to meet their needs to be loved, approved and good enough.
So, mastery of the mind is nothing more than a stage in the evolution of Universal Consciousness and we urgently need to move onto the next stage if we don’t want to destroy the Earth and its habitants.
